<< BackChemistry Lab Construction
Expanding For Educational Excellence II

Why are the new chemistry labs needed?
The current lab is outdated for today’s high academic standards and will soon lose its viability. The new two story addition housing the state-of-the-art chemistry labs will offer a healthy, high quality laboratory and classroom collaborative environment. In addition to the labs, prep rooms, storage and a science team office will be constructed. The building will include many energy efficient and sustainable features. A future project will add a landscaped courtyard with outdoor classrooms, native landscaping and a water habitat.
The new building will be a registered Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver project with many sustainable features. LEED is the nation’s pre-eminent program for the design, construction, and operation of high performance, environmentally-friendly “green” buildings.
Construction will begin in the spring of 2012. The new building will be completed by the fall of 2012.
